Iran’s ‘Inside the Skin’ to compete at 2023 Cannes filmfest

Iranian flick ‘Inside the Skin’ has been selected to compete at the 2023 edition of the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Directed by Iranian filmmakers Shafaq Abousaba and Maryam Mahdiye, the Iranian title will go on screen at the La Cinefondation section of the French event.

“An unexpected encounter brings Ali's image of himself closer to reality,” the synopsis of the film reads.

The cast list of the flick includes Ario Amiri, Behrad Salah-Varzi, Hani Salehi, and Payam Moutab.

The Cannes Film Festival is an annual cinematic event held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from all around the world.

The 76th edition of the annual Cannes Film Festival will take place on May 16-27, 2023.
